Meditation for Stress Management

When practicing meditation, your heart rate and breathing slows down; your blood pressure normalizes, you use oxygen more efficiently, and you sweat less, your mind ages at a slower rate, and your immune functions improves. Your mind also clears and your creativity increases.

-Your adrenal glands produce less cortisol (cortisol increases blood sugar, suppresses the immune system, and decreases bone formation)

-Meditation increases serotonin production which influences mood and behavior. Low levels of serotonin are associated with depression, obesity, insomnia and headaches.

- Research has revealed that meditation increases activity of 'natural-killer cells', which kill bacteria and cancer cells and enhances the immune system.

-Meditation can help to resolve most neurological issues, fears and anxieties.

-Meditation restores the body to a calm state, helping the body to repair itself, and preventing new damage due to the physical effects of stress.
